Yesterday, on this day November 9th 1572, after hearing of a massacre of 50,000 protestants in France, and seriously ill - (the father of Presbyterianism) John Knox dragged himself to his pulpit at St Giles’ in Edinburgh to preach his last sermon. After the entire service the congregation followed the old and frail man as he made his way home. He died a fortnight later.

“A man with God
is always in the majority.”
