The following picture was taken by me last weekend. Two or three times a year I take my family out on a hike. This weekend we visited the Great Falls of the Passaic River – which is about a 25 minute drive from my house. They are a 77 foot falls in the heart of Paterson, New Jersey. This waterfall the highest in the northeast after Niagara.
I showed pictures of them to my co-worker and he told me they were used in the first season of the Sopranos, the TV series. In the show he told me that is where they dumped a dead body. Well I didn’t see any dead bodies but I did see a beautiful piece of nature.
The first Dutch visitors to the Great Falls in 1680 declared it
”a sight to be seen in order to observe the power and wonder of God.”
Psalm 65:9 “Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God”
