  • deja vu

The most used definition is: a. An impression of having seen or experienced something before.

It very likely that you are experiencing this feeling at this point of Obama’s Presidency so far.  This is because in Bill Clinton’s first days in office he too lost appointments because of various tax concerns.  He also to tried to pass a liberal stimulus package only to fail (his stimulus package cost only 34 million).   It will be interesting to see if President Obama will follow suit and abandon the fair left in order to get some things done.  I predict he will.

    Pace

Well I’ve change one of my New Year resolutions.  I was going to study and seek to take the PMP management exam – to be certified in project management.   Instead I have applied to Pace University, in NYC, in order to take several graduate level classes to get a certificate in Advanced Software Development & Engineering.  It’s a year a half commitment where I will be staying late in the city, one day a week.   Two good things are that the credits can be applied towards a masters degree and secondly my employer will reimburse me for the classes.

It’s been a long time since I been at school – so I am a little nervous contemplating on getting back in the swing of things.  Tonight will be our first class – and I expect to get home some time after 9:30 PM.    Seems like a daunting challenge, but just like my training for the half-marathon, I need only look at one day, or task at a time and before you know it, Lord willing, I will be done.

I must say that I very much appreciate my wife’s support in both these ventures.   She’s great!

  • I felt the house shake …

Last night about 10:30 PM – I was sitting in front of the T.V. and I felt the house shake for about 10 seconds. I darted around the house trying to figure out what caused the house to shake. Did a car slam into the side of the house, did the furnace explode?   Nope – nothing was wrong.  So I went to bed, just a bit puzzled and wondering if I imagined it.  This morning I mentioned it to my wife and she informed me that the news reported that we had a magnitude 3.0 earthquake.    The news reports noted that there has been no reports of injury or damage -just shook people up a bit.    That’s a first for me.
